Quantum of Solace

Postby Andrew MacLean » Sat 01 Nov 2008 11:44 am

Not the best Bond film they ever made, but neither was it the worst. They set up the next one rather neatly.

I'm certainly glad I went. Walking through Glasgow on a cold Halloween night I was a bit alarmed to see the number of wee lassies that were about with no shoes on! that is taking the notion of authentic 'fancy dress' a bit far!

I was a bit disappointed really. As you said Andrew, it was not the best, but not the worst either. I miss the cheesiness Pierce Brosnan brought to the films - but then again that's probably because he was the 'Bond of my generation'.

And the wee lassies with no shoes on is not just reserved for Halloween! That goes on all year round

I agree with both; there were times in Casino when Mr. Craig seemed to be playing Sean Connery playing 007. At least he seems to be growing into the part 'in his own skin'. Only one more film in the role to stamp his take on the character.

I have a theory ... but I'd better not say.

Haven't seent he film yet - I gather Bond doesn't get the girl.
Interesting .....
I did see an interview with Olga in one of the freeby papers.
I once wrote a new James Bond book - well, serial story - in which someone else got all the girls and Bond got done for dangerous driving.
Maybe I should updae it a bit....
