My -6.5 right eye got used to glasses in that I would get one image after a month or so. The only problem was the distortion that was left due to the other problems on that eye. Could not get better than 6/20 on a good day which is why that eye is reliant on a contact lens.

Will you be able tp resume diving in the future?

Yes. Dr Rameash thinks that once the all the sutures are out and things are stabilised, there should be no problem. That's why he avoided a full-thickness graft, which apparently is less suited to those of us of the aquatic persuasion! I still have a long wait ahead of me as I will need the right eye grafting too but things are moving nicely and in the meanwhile the Navy is doing a good job of keeping me occupied.

We are going to bless another DSRV in December; maybe you could use the comfort of a climate-controlled submersible while you are waiting to get back into your dry-suit?
