It's back, Capt'n Jack and the crew will be keeping Wales safe for democracy as they fend off aliens and goof-ball humans.
All we need now is to await the return of the Good Doctor and our joy will be complete!

Re: Torchwood
I am looking forward to the return of the Doctor but Torchwood didn't do it for me last time

Re: Torchwood
I have sky + all set up for it, roll on Wednesday.
What did people think of the Christmaa Dr Who? I enjoyed it, I thought Kylie was good, she would probably have made a good companion but it's not to be.
I'm not sure about 'Donna' returning as the Dr's companion for the next series, I was suprised thet Martha wasn't kept on but I believe she will be in a couple of Torchwood episodes.
I'm hoping to see the good Doctor and Captain Jean Luc Picard (DT and PS) in Hamlet at Stratford in July. Should be good.
Lesley.

Re: Torchwood
Fear not Lesley, Martha is set to return to Dr Who mid season, and Rose is back for 3 episodes

Re: Torchwood
... and they say the BBC is "dumbing down". Pha!
This is really going to be an excellent season. Sadly, I can seldom watch either Torchwood or Doctor Who at the times when the BBC want to broadcast the programmes. That is why they invented DVD.

Re: Torchwood
Sorry Andrew but I have to say that was TOTAL garbage ( or perhaps I am to old for this drivel).
I now await a lot of flak

Please have a listen to my daughter, if you have a spare moment, on www.myspace.com/emmaparnes. She also wrote the songs.

Re: Torchwood
DON'T SPOIL IT FOR ME! I haven't seen it yet.
Right, did it have John Barrowman? Did it have the little Welsh ex-police constable? Did it have modern Cardiff? did it have any special effects?

Re: Torchwood
I caught some glimpses of it but quickly switched to Taggart on HDD. I think the thing with sci-fi (believe it or not) is that it has to acted properly. No matter how good the prosthetics / special effects, nobody really believes that a 6ft bi-ped is anything other than human being no matter how green its skin is or how many tentactles it has The acting has to be equally over the top to carry off the whole idea that its ridiculous but fun. John Barrowman just doesn't do this. Either his portrayal or his character is simply to ordinary. The occasional extraordinary dialogue just doesn't fit with the rest of the character and so looks cheesy. David Tennant on the other hand carries off his character superbly, he is suitably committed to the eccentric doctor so that his enthusaiasm for the imrobable carrie you along with it. But its not just David Tennant, John Simm and Derek Jacobee were equally brilliant.
Sorry Torchwood, you're not for me. I have the same problem with StarGate, its under-acted.
