Full marks to Dr Ramaesh

Postby Andrew MacLean » Sat 17 Mar 2007 2:42 pm

I had my post cataract clinic on Thursday. Everything is wonderful!

They gave me a prescription for new specs. Without correction, I have 6/9 (both eyes open), and with correction I will have 6/6 in my right (PK and cataract eye). I collect my specs on Monday or Tuesday.

(For North American readers, 6/6 is equivalent to your 20/20).

One slightly dark cloud is that there is evidence that the 'host tissue' to which my PK was attached has begun to stretch. At the moment this seems to be working to my advantage, although in time it may become a disadvantage.

Happiness hardly describes it! But, yes, you are right: very happy indeed!

This will be of great help for those who have had grafts and have since been diagnosed with cataracts.

So excellent news for you and hope for the others.

Andrew

IS this right, 6/9, unaided is what you get? With both eyes together?
