Postby eman samir » Tue 27 Feb 2007 5:59 pm

some times, when i couldn't read or see some thing i just move my head a little by different angles till i can read it.i was surprised and i was wondering if some of you has experienced that?
for indeed,it is not the eyes that grow blind but it is the hearts which are within the bosoms that grow blind...

Yes I have found that sometimes looking at my book from a different angle helps. It wont work all the time though.

Eman,

That is pretty normal, finding a point where the light travels through an undamaged part of the cornea.

Without lenses, chuck a ball at me and I'll miss it.

Slide something off a table just to my right in my periferal vision, i'll see it and catch it no problem at all.

Add me to the list of who's experienced that. :D I used to do it to see details more clearly, such as reading newspaper sized print or sewing.

Thanks Gareth, it's nice to have an explanation for it. :D

Yes! I think it has to do with the way the cone sits in our field of vision. If we look through a slightly different part of the cornea, the steepness of the cone can be mittigated slightly.

When looking at the Snellen chart I find that I can get a slight improvement from my left when moving my head around. This doesn't work with the other eye which has worse KC.
