Sione is a beautiful name for a beautiful child. You probably know that the name is Hebrew and means "Peak" (as in montain).

You obviously hope for great things for your daughter. I know that she has already added blessings to your home.

We were convinced she was a boy for 9 months and had already picked the name Zion. When she was born we feminised the name, but didnt know if it it was the correct female form of Zion!!! i think i like this meaning better than 'Sign'!!!

Thanks to all with their best wishes

Sione is the feminine form of Siona (both mean peak). Sion means summit (therefore has to do with the location rather than the feature).

Sion is a variant spelling of Zion. Sion, or Zion was the hill on which the City of David was built. This is metaphorically expanded to give Zion the added meaning of a place of safety, or even of relaxation.

Sione is a fairly safe feminization of Sion, as well as Siona. It is a beautiful name that contains the parents aspirations for their new daughter.
