I had a dream last night that my contact lens fell out of my eye and into the void so I couldnot find it and when it came back it was gold and a darlek came out of it.

Some times I scare me

Dr Wholigans? I think I quite like that.

Is the aforementioned lovable Wayne the same Englisham who got himself sent off, scuppering his team's chances of cictory? or, is he the same Englisham whose sore foot displaced all other news in the Scottish media in the build up to the World Cup? or, is he both of those people?

At least in fiction you can pretend that things like a sore foot make no difference, or that stamping on an opposing player is a minor inraction!

I was sorry that England departed from the competition early, I thought they had the potential to win this time. The problem was that they didn't really seem to think so.

Now the Scottish doctor is having to take on the cybermen and the daleks and the programme has already been made so that only the audience waits to learn the pre-determined outcome.

Oh I've just got it Andrew.

Dr Who is Scottish; Andrew Murray who is the best British player (but doesn't want to admit to being British) is Scottish, The British Government is more or less Scottish, and the Scottish MP's have a vote on English affairs but English MP's have no vote on Scottish affairs.

I think it is a great time to be Scottish. How do I apply :?:

Just change your little flag.

didn't you know that when Englad ran out of a royal Family they came to Scotland and asked if they could borrow ours. that was the beginning of the Scottish Empire.

:D

I'm not very technologically minded but if it's as easy as changing my little flag I will have to check out how to do this.

Wow I am excited by the thought of free university fees for my son and daughter and free care for me in a few years time when I become old and doddery(I am middle-aged and doddery at the moment). Not to mention free nursery care for my grand children when they arrive.

Perhaps I will send John a PM, right now to help me sort out the change of flag.

Hang on a mo, Murray has just exited Wimbledon with a whimper. I'll have to think this through now. The whole idea has become a lot less attractive

I've only watched a few minutes of the dear Doctor but if I am not mistaken he conceals his Scottish accent. Why is this? Would it be a turn off for the rest of GB if he spoke normally.

I see nothing wrong with a Dr McWho!

The actor is Scottish, but the script seems to demand a Doctor with a home counties accent, tending to estuary.

Davie Tennant has a very pleasant Scottish voice (you'd have heard it if you watched Dr Who confidential on BBC 3 or 4 on Sunday evening.

Oh well, the cettic fringe nations are used to having their identity subsumed in the larger neighbour. A Scottish historian describved the Celtic nations' experience of the UK as being "like sharing a bed with an elephant". Even that nice little Welsh man, Ian Hislop sounds as English as you could imagine.

Andrew

Louise

Of course you can be Scottish. All you have to do is make up your mind, change your flag and enjoy Doctor Who.
