KC people living in Scotland

Postby Elizabeth Mair » Mon 20 Feb 2006 12:11 pm

How about making comments here, so that we can keep in touch with each other?
Tell us about yourself, good or bad experiences and things that could help other people living in Scotland.
If you are not already on the Scottish group e-mail list send me your e-mail address either as a personal message or in this topic.I can then keep you up to date with meetings and other info that we share within the Scottish group. Elizabeth

Hi, I'm new here, just thought it would be a good idea to get to know other peoples experiences of keratoconus. I am a fifth year secondary school student and have had keratoconus for the 3 years. I currently wear hard contact lenses to correct my vision, which I have become used to- including the common problems of them falling out all the time etc! I look forward to reading information and comments on keratoconus on this site in the future! :)

James, thanks for the reply, I hope to attend a meeting in the future!
As far as my sight is concerned, I can't compalin- we are all the same here... after 3 years, my KC is finally beginning to settle for a little while, although my eye sight has deterioated so much. However, thank goodness I have my RGP lenses to rely upon!

hey james again i was at casualty today it looks like its rejection time yet again its in the early stages so thats good news but the darn pain isnt good news its real bad.

i cope well but now this is starting again i feel whats the point my left graft isnt rejecting but the latest is im blind in that eye, as you know from the meeting im young and look at the good rather than the bad but its not easy as my confidence and self esteem have taken a huge blow i may need to do a course or something to improve it.

i hate the fact im 24 and my gran has better eye sight than me.

also i lost my girlfriend as the stress of it has got to much for us.

so yet more good news (not)

but the drops will stop it and ill fight this rejection like the rest of them i aint giving up

You have coped with more than most of us.

All the best
