Don't Forget This Saturday (8th April) in Birmingham

Postby John Thatcher » Wed 05 Apr 2017 4:56 pm

Our next West Midlands meeting is at 11:00 in the Community Hub in John Lewis’s at Grand Central directly above Birmingham New Street Station. Please note that this is a new venue and should be much quieter than out-patients at BMEC. It is very easy to get to being on the 4th floor of John Lewis in the corner of Audio and TV (turn right at the top of the escalator, go to the end and turn left into the room).

The title of the talk is "An Optometrist’s Perspective of Prescribing and Fitting Contact Lenses for Keratoconus and Tips for Successful Wear" and is being given by Dr Waheeda Illahi, Head of Optometry at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre. This should be of interest to most of us, whether to understand better what and how the Optometrist thinks or to gain her tips on maximising contact lens wearing times - or both! It will, as usual, be very informal with every opportunity to ask questions - and also for you to give your feedback on the new venue.

I am pleased to say that Anne Klepacz, who started the Group 25 years ago, is going to be there as well so this is also a good chance to meet her if you haven't already done so.

One other point to note is that we can't make drinks in the room but 'The Place to Eat' is also on the 4th floor so if you want to get a coffee or tea beforehand and bring it in that's fine.

Hope to see you there.

John
