Cross Linking

Postby gilly49 » Mon 16 Nov 2009 10:05 am

Hi, just to let everyone know, my son Josh (18) had his right eye cross linked last Saturday 15th November 2009 at the Bridgend Eye Hospital (just off the M4, Junction 36) under the very wonderful care of Mr Vinod Kumar. He is doing really well and will have his contact lens bandage taken off on Wednesday this week. Will keep you posted.

Gill,

Great news! Please tell Josh that we are thinking of him!

Some of our members have had crosslinking done and would like to hear about his experience! It would be lovely if he can post in the general forum where everyone can read!

Have a fantastic Christmas!

Love Claire X x X

Hi everyone,

I’m 19 and was diagnosed with KC last year. Since then my KC has gotten significantly worse, I currently only wear glasses however have be told by my eye doctor that I either need contact lenses or cross linking.

When I was diagnosed with this I was told cross linking is not available on the Welsh NHS and I am still stunned to this day that you can’t have procedure on the NHS. As my KC is getting worse I am very lucky and have family members helping me pay for cross linking privately.

Has anyone else had cross linking done? Does it hurt and what happens on the day of the procedure?

Thanks everyone
