PMs

Postby fatar760 » Tue 30 Aug 2011 9:31 am

Hi,

There's been a few occasions where I've written out (often long) PM's to a member and then either it hasn't been sent or has just stayed in my outbox.

Any advice on what i may be doing wrong?

You may not be doing anything wrong. Not all members retrieve Private Messages, so they would sit in your outbox. I don't know about why they might fail to send; did you try to re-send those posts, and did the problem persist?

It's difficult to say. I remember writing a couple of PM's (one of which was very very long) and didn't get a response. I've just seen that it didn't even send.

Is it a case that it will sit in the outbox until the other person receives it? Or should it, like normal email or texting, send anyway?

From my expereince it stays in Outbox until the receipient goes into their inbox to retrieve. HTH.

I too was thinkning messages were not going through initially.

Newbie is correct: messages will remain in your outbox until the addressee retrieves them from their inbox.
