Birthday cake!

Postby rosemary johnson » Mon 01 Jun 2009 6:22 pm

It's my birthday today!
Cake all round.
Lemon drizzle; cholcolate fudge cheesecake, cream sponge cake, Christmas cake.... virtually anything you fancy.
Before anyone asks, I'm 24 again.
And the year ahead is DEFINITELY!!!! going to be better than the last one. Or the last two.
And still a few hours for the foal to share my birthday......!

Did the foal share your birthday?

Whether or not you have a foal with the same birthday, many happy returns of yesterday! 24 again; a good age at which to refuse the fence!

Still no news of the foal arriving.
Sme day, sooner or later.....
Had nice quiet evening, eating cake and reading birthday present, and chatting onthe phone.

Thanks, Lea!
Still no news of a foal. Twice today I put my phone on and got a "voicemail has new message" text but it was only something else.
Frustrating.
Actually, the first was very frustrating, cos it was the same message I got onthe landline yesterday. And the second was someone ringing from a(nother) hopsital about an appointment, and when I rang back, clearly they'd gone for the day as no answer. DOubly frustrating.
Actually, trebly frustrating as she was asking for Mrs Johnson!!!!!

Still no foal.
SO we're going to be qite a way off having the same birthday now.
Unless it is twins after all, and they arrive on 1st July. The poor little mare will be looking well fed up by then, I'm sure!
THe little shetland pony in the stable next to Duke's is looking of a shape that could be pregnant - but no; he's a gelding!
The shape is fromt he strange way he's been moulting - his nice sleek summer coat is through on his back and legs and most of his sides; there still a lot of thick winter coat fluff sitcking out on his lower sides and all over his belly. Making him looking very fat-bellied and most weird!!
ANyone want some jam doughnuts, by the way? OPening a give-ack, and only eaten one so far, so do help yourselves.

Rather a lot of cake, yes - what with the apple and dairy cream sponge, the double chocolate fudge cheesecake and the lemon drizzle cake.
Still no foal yet - but at the stable yard today, I realised the calendar (hung onthe wwall inthe tack room/tea room/general store room was still on the May page and turned it over.
And guess what?! - the June page has a picture of a black pony mare and her foal (piebald; mainly black with a coupel of smallish white patches).
COuld this be an omen????
