I'd get one were it not for two and a half factors:
1. The lack of 3G support. When I'm in a non-3G area, internet pages are so S-L-O-W compared to nice HSDPA (high speed) 3G!
2. The horrific contract with O2.
2.5. The lack (maybe) of a proper qwerty keyboard. If there's an on-screen qwerty then I'll happily remove this objection. I just can't text using the number pad to save my life!
It certainly is a nice beast though... I'm looking forward to iPhone 2!

In answer to your objection 2.5: the iPhone does have an onscreen qerty keeboard.
I understand your objection to the O2 contract, but the one I have ought to save me up to £15 per month when compared to my old T-Mobile account.
I am afraid I don't know what 3G is

, but I can latch onto WiFi networks and get pretty fast download speeds for things like maps. I do have a little problem that has nothing to do with my iPhone. When the phone recovers eMails telling me about new posts to the KC site, I would have to enter my forum password to enter or, at least, to respond. The problem is that I do not have the first idea what my password is! My computer remembers these things for me, so that I don't have to.
I have found that I have access to several translations of the Bible, several folios of the works of Shakespeare, an almost complete anthology of poetry in the English language, as well as original texts and translations of the works of Omar Khayam, the Q'oran, the Vedic Sutras etc.
One question for some clever people. Why is it that I can get and send eMails when I am out and about? Is this only possible because some people do not 'password protect' their wireless routers?
Anyway, I was in the Apple store today looking to buy headphones for my iPhone. (I dislike 'earphones', if you understand the distinction that I am making). They had so many toys that I had to leave, but not until I had bought my wife a nice little iPod.
Does anybody know if it will ever be possible to use the iPhone on different networks?
Andrew
