One eyed art

Postby Matthew_ » Thu 06 Dec 2007 6:47 pm

I am bored convalescing at home after my graft. So I started an art course. I found the poor eye-sight isn't really a problem. I just paint as I see, which means not much detail but I quite like that. I am no great artist but it is really relaxing...

Wow Matthew, at first I thought you were joking when you said you did these paintings.

I am no art expert but they look really good to me.

Just think how good you will be when you start seeing out of both eyes!
Please have a listen to my daughter, if you have a spare moment, on www.myspace.com/emmaparnes. She also wrote the songs.

Sadly, I don't think having two eyes will improve it...But hopefully the practice I am getting whilst off work will :D

Matthew

Good therapy! I was particularly struck by the little tumbled mushroom in the still life; upside sown and alone, its stem pointing up and its cap on the table. Suggests what it must feel like to be a gregarious sailor cut off from his normal duties, all upside down, not growing and cut off from the rest.

Yes, you are right; I really am the kind of twit who stands forever in front of a picture in a gallery telling myself inner stories that makes sense of the image in front of me. :?

....I always wondered who that twit was............ :D

Seriously though Matthew, I wish I could sketch that well - and I haven't got a grafted eye to contend with! They're pretty good!
