In recent months, the forums have become a lot more active than they once were (I remember a time when we were lucky to get 2 postings in a week; we sometimes get more than that in a minute these days!). The increased workload though has made it increasingly difficult for the existing moderation team, and the web-site sub-commitee decided last week to invite two members to join our merry band of moderators.
It is with great pleasure therefore that I can announce that Andrew MacLean and Karl R have kindly agreed to join Gareth and myself as forum moderators. Sorry Andrew, but it does mean that you've lost your golden eye!
I'm sure you'll join me in congratulating Karl and Andrew in their new positions, and that you'll help them along as they get used to their new responsibilities.

Re: New Moderators
Congratulations Andrew and Karl. I am sure you will maintain the high standards set by John and Gareth.
Good luck and we will try not to give you a too bumpy a ride!

Re: New Moderators
Thanks Michael.
Karl at least has the advantage of having a bit of a clue about how all this works: for my part, I am the original 'punter moderator'. I have an idea what I have to do to make my contributions appear on the forum but I do not have the slightest notion of how it all works.

Thanks Michael,
As Andrew has said, I know my way around phpbb well as I run a couple of forums for people I know. Andrew will soon find his way around the moderators control panel so not a lot will slip by in time

Great, congratulations both!
Such an important job, without which we would be stuffed, to put not fine a point on it!
Now, for your first task; moderate this...>>[Moderated] keratoconous!

Steady: it takes an old man a long time to learn new tricks. As it is I have to work hard to persuade my Mac that I want to do most of the things that I am confident about!
