To be honest, for me life before KC was very similar to life after KC.
Well for many years anyway as I only had it in one eye and just compensated by relying on my good eye.
I had more enjoyable summers before KC, now I spend most of my time avoiding the bright weather.

The only thing different for me is that I no longer race cars competitivly, but I collect my new glasses soon, so in another six months I may be back to competative racing.

Only two things really bug me...
1.0 If I don't have my lenses in I can't just pick up and read a newspaper.
2.0 Getting into bed and remembering i haven't taken out my lenses.....I am lucky they're so comfortable...but it is a nuisance.
None of the above is too much of a hardship.

I don't really remember life without KC so I can't really answer this one!! I do know though that when my eyes are ok and I can see, I manage very well without lenses in though not well enough to work, and with lenses life is all brilliant!!

Hi All
Quick story.......i had been with my boyfriend 3 yrs and was then dx with KC he became very abusive with me and mentally pushed me over the edge telling me that nobody would ever want a 'Blind Blonde Bird' or would want to be a taxi service/guide dog for me, So 4 yrs later (yes i know 4yrs later) i finally stood up to him and told him to...... (yes it ended in off) and from that day my eyes got even worse but with the help of FRIENDS and much partying i found the man of my dreams 6 yrs on we are married have a beautiful daughter (1 1/2 yrs) and have tackled many other health problems along the way (and im only in my late 20's) and i can honestly say since having KC i have ditched the **** found Mr Right and i wouldnt change my life for anything.
Living with KC can be hard at times but i have learnt that lifes to short and to make the very best of what you've got
with luv

Emma I am really glad that your story has a happy ending!! I have found out who my real friends are since having KC and being on long term sick. When I couldn't see and needed help with things I found out who I should get rid of!!
