When I saw the title of this string, I thought it was a kindly English person offering some much needed support to Scotland after Saturday's six nations. A 2-1 defeat would have been so much easier to bear.

Here is the situation: Scotland has had a Rugby Football Union since Moses was a wee boy running around the Pharoe's Palace.

Italy has had an RFU for about two and a half weeks.

So, which is the better team? Let me give you a clue: their support does not turn up wearing kilts and they do not come from a country where sheeps' lungs, liver, heart and skirt make the nation's signature dish.

To make matters worse, England contrived to be defeated also.

I still think France looks a bit tasty for the six nations.

Andrew, I am not that well up on rugby but as you say, it is pretty likely now that France will win the 6 Nations, but the Irish must be a very very close second... and yes Scotland must be poor to make England look almost half decent :( .

Lesley, thanks for your comiserations. I am  rather than just :(.

The ending was rather unfortunate. I think Arsenal will suffer even more than just the 2 red cards. Eboue will get the red card instead of Adebayor because of mistaken identity but Adebayor will still get a ban for refusing to leave the pitch.

There were a number of poor decisions from the officials and I think the luck Arsenal had against Wigan has been more than cancelled out these past few weeks.
