trick or treat

How's it been where you live this evening?

I had some youngsters round early on all dressed up and kinda cute, I was happy to give them a few sweets and send them on their way. Then things got nasty, I heard some thuds on the window and when I went out to see what was happening, with the dog on a long lead just in case, I discovered some hooligans had chucked eggs at the house, over the front door, windows and my car! Hubby rang just as I came back in, he's away so I'm on my own, and wasn't very pleased when I told him. Anyway I phoned the police and they told me that "egging" is the thing this year, never mind knocking for a treat it's straight into trick. Apparantly it's happening all over Warwickshire.

Why is it that over in the US trick or treat is a family fun night but once it arrives here the yobs take over and spoilt it for everyone else? I'm on my own at the moment and I was frightened so goodness knows what the elderly living alone are feeling.

My rant over, thanks for listening.

I used to sit indoor with the lights all off on Oct 31st... until I moved.

Now I've moved, the only treaters I'm likely to get are the two girls who live nearby... which I wouldn't really object to as I know them already...

However, I'm saved though as their mum's not keen on the idea, even amongst neighbours. How sensible she is! :D

This year things were fine. Mainly young kids with their parents standing at the bottom of our drive keeping a watchful eye.

Couple years ago we had problems with egging, but that stopped when the youngest dog nearly had one of the hooligans when he climbed the back fence, the only way to be able to get an egg to hit our back windows.

Police did come round then and do nothing, but since ASBO's were served on the thug population in our village, all has been quiet.

I went outside to clear the broken eggshells this morning only to find that the upstairs windows are covered plus the wall as well as the living room window and front door. I was in tears trying to get it off and I seem to have made more of a mess. Anyone any ideas how to clean egg stains off once it's set?

I called the police last night but there wasn't a lot they could do they did have patrols out but the problem is catching the little s*ds in the act.

Jay,

I think it was a group but of course they had scarpered by the time I got out there.

I'll have to get hubby up the ladder at the weekend to try and get rid of it.
