Just been on TV that a study by Manchester University has shown that people with sight defects find ugly people more atractive than normally sighted people!
So who is going to say their partner;
"As I have sight problem, you're probably ugly!"
No wonder Universities are failing to attract the next generation of scientists with such stupid research

surely they have misinterpreted the real findings?.....or rather the reporting decided to add their own spin?

Jay, see my post on Do contact lenses cause KC.
If you go looking for sight related stuff, the source looks reputable and here it probably is coming from Manchester Uni, howevre the way in which the paper is summarised on the site found it is completely mis-leading and probably wrong!
Like Hari posted on the main forum after his huge list of why lenses are bad, his closing paragraph did say there are just as many papers saying why lenses are good and have no impact on KC.
However when asked to balance the post, you will see there are no positive links to wearing lenses posted thus far so the post is very biased one way and will probably scare those new to this site and new to KC!

MANCHESTER
The University of the completely obvious!
what is wrong with the following syllogism
Alison married Andrew
Andrew is bald and overweight
Therefore Alison must have a visual impairment.
Some clever PhD student in Glasgow discovered recently that children who are habitually out late are more likely to get into trouble with the Police: I am afaid that Manchester may have to share the crown!
