When I got my Rose K, the lens fiter was training a Russian optom and convinced her Rose K lenses were developed because of the large number of New Zealand sheep with KC.
That is why New Zealand lamb is so common, the poor blighters can not see to run away from the shepherd

Are you quite sure? Or have you been drinking your lens solution again?

Well done Gareth. With all that sunshine in NZ, do the sheep have trouble with post-graft cataracts?

Unless they go in for mutton, my gues would be they reach the dinner plate prior to cataracts being diagnosed

I prefer Mutton to Lamb, but it is hard to source in a world dominated by the young sheep market. Since it was the NZ trade that led to the sudden expansion in the Lamb market, maybe they couldn't afford to let their mutton mature because it would have cost too much in sun specs for sheep.
Gareth, I think you may be onto something here. when Matthew finishes his MBA, he can undertake some research into the comparative eyesight of Scottish, Welsh and NZ sheep, calculate the t value for the three populations agains the English Lake District Sheep and let us know if the rates of KC in the different populations are related.
Then he can look at familial KC in the different populations and let us know whether there is a significantly greater chance of sheep with familial KC developing the condition than those in the general population of which they are part.

That all depends on how approachable the sheep are. I mean they probably moved to NZ to get away from all that kind of thing. They just want wear their oakeys and chew grass!

				Soft lenses and ghost images

I just wondered if the soft lenses you had been using happened to be kerasoft ones. They have been specially designed for KC. Unfortunately a lot of people are having problems with them just now, because they rotate out of place - the weights don't stay at the bottom. This has been causing me to see ghost images daytime, and in the dark and it is almost impossible for me to read print with them in. The manufacturer has been contacted re the problem according to my optometrist at Gartnavel.
Some days I've been going back to my GP lenses which are Fluoroperm ones, but I get less wearing time with them because I have dry eyes.
By the way I take it you stay in Scotland. Get in contact with me about the Scottish KC group which meets in Glasgow, because I don't think you are on the mailing list. I'll send you my e-mail adddress by e-mail.

No, there just normal cibavision daily disposals. I've only just been diagnosed so I don't have any KC related lenses as yet, I am aback for a fitting at Gartnaval in October.
Thanks, got the e-mail, will get back to you. Thanks for your kindness.
