I was talking to a english tourist (who was with her ozzie boyfriend) a while back and we started on how we australians can be hard to understand.

I thought nothing of it until we started yakkin about the movie "The Castle"
Hope at least someone on here has seen it.

I came out with the fraze
"Nothin like a 2 stroke going flat out across the lake"
which is from the movie.

What took me back a bit was that the english girl had no idea of what I was on about, while the ozzie bloke was rolling around the floor laughing his guts out.

Another bit of the movie she didn't get was when they are standing on the verandah next to a bug zappa, a bug gets zapped and he says
"arhh the serenity"

We changed the subject not long after that as I think she felt left out and we were gangin up on her

Are our languages really that different cause I know our sence of humor ain't.
