I missed the footie; was at a wedding.

Seems the South American team scored, but in the wrong net!? This meant that england won, although they did not score.

The newspapers up here had a lot of news about an englishman having a sore foot. Was that football related? Does anyone know if his sore foot is better? I'm afraid I didn't read the article, mostly because "Englishman has sore foot" doesn't seem like a very arresting headline.

Well I don't ususally watch footie at all but did yesterday...

...and I have to say well done TRINIDAD!!! Considering I had to put up with people all week being very superior and predicting telephone numbers goals scored against Trini, I think the lads did well.

There is a football gear shop next to one of the practices I work in and I popped in there yesterday to try and get a Trini flag to wave. "Trinidad!!??" he exclaimed.. "what on earth do want a flag for a backwater team like that!?" HUH!

HOwever, although all you English fans are muttering that England will still murder Trinidad - its surely about the game!! (ducking!)

Mind you, I had to chuckle becasue after the game a Trini friend who is over here currently, rang me up and we were discussing it. "Hello? See me.. we can actually play as well as THAT?" she said in disbelief hehe!

So.. come on you Soca Warriers! (and its pronounced So-kah not soccer, like all the pundits keep saying! Soca is Caribbean music)

Lynn

I agree.....they played very well!....BUT.....lol...Sweden were VERY unlucky.....in the second half I saw 4 clear goals......which on any other day would have been in the back of the net...

But totally, agree......they are def not the easy opponent everyone assumed.....and if Englands performance Yesterday....I get the feeling it COULD be another draw!!.........unless if we actually hire a decent manager who knows the meaning of correct tactical decision making!....

So far I have seen no footbal, no highlights or ready any of it in the paper.

My only update re footie is from the security guard when I left work and the odd mention at work.

With slight imporvement in my avoidance strategy, I could even fail to know who actually wins when its all over.
