Well Jay I told you it would be a nervous evening. Wow, the blood pressure is at last beginning to drop a bit.

Michael

That is good news, but how did your football team do?

Michael

That was sum serious luck there pal!...You have to admit they played VERY bad......and were extremely lucky not to have conceded 2 goals excluding the penalty!...(which wasnt even a penalty!)....if it wasnt for there lack of confidence and focus Villareal would have put many past Arsenal!

If they play like that against Barca then its over mate!....3-0 minimum!

But am glad Arsenal got through!....As to be beat by a tenth place league team would not have done good for reputation or morale!

Whats interesting is the Legal Bid Spurs are rumoured to be planning IF Arsenal win the Champions League!....

Role on May!

Andrew, as you probably know by now Arsenal drew 0-0, fortuitously and go through 1-0 on aggregate.

Jay, the champions League has no bearing on how teams perform in their own leagues and both Liverpool and Arsenal have shown this to be the case as well as Villareal.

Arsenal have performed as poorly as this in quite a few away Champions League matches over the years. I have no idea why and Wenger doesn't appear to have an explanation for this either. Oh well, hopefully they will play better against, presumably ,Barca.

Hope so!...As after the Finals, we then got the World Cup! So will be a good few months coming up!

It is really odd how Arsenal play....its almost like they have an On and Off button?!...But I am hoping Wenger changes the game plan abit for Barca. I counted 11 times yesterday where Henry was left unsupported up front when challenging for the ball.......whereas when they played at Home.....he always had a so called wing man to play off..

Yup, I think Arsenal had a totally negative game plan whatever Wenger may have said about playing their normal game before the match.

I kept expecting them to raise their game but it just didn't happen. It is a shame Adebayor was cup tied because I think he is more suited to being a lone striker; he can hold the ball up better than Henry to allow supporting midfield players to come up. Having said that I am not sure they would have anyway!

I have to be honest, but that was a trully awfull game of football to watch, even my friend who is an Arsenal supporter (I am not) admitted as we watched it that it was embarrassing to watch.

Good result for Arsenal though.

Can't agree with you more Paul.

I still feel that the players must have been carrying out Wenger's instructions; keep what you've got and never get stretched at the back.

Jay, I stick by my belief that Arsenal will win by 2 clear goals  . I hope I don't end up  .
My biggest concern is that I have just received a chain email sending me good luck which i must pass on to 20 people within 4 days and if I don't I will get the opposite.
I suppose I should be glad Arsenal are playing within this period
