Was it really so different from the way psychiatry is practised in the modern world. You find somebody whom you do not like. Call him mad. Make him take powerful drugs and if he doesn't you lock him away.

Does the person whom you do not like have to do anything to provoke the imposition of these powerful drugs or 'imprisonment'? No.

It is all a bit too 'Alice in Wonderland' for me.

The only difference across the globe is the degree of physical debasement and environment, that's all.
