Did you say that in the Dick Emery way, 'Oh you are awful but I like you!'?!!

Who used to watch vintage kids programme Rainbow? I did, and here's an alternative version!!

the great beauty of the Avengers was that it began in sparkling black and white on 405 lines CRT, was always painfully British and managed to be really excellent television.

Meanwhile The Man from U.N.C.L.E. was always in colour, had North American production values but never quite managed to achieve the same quality.

Steed never took himself seriously, never looked untidy and never lost his cool. Solo and Kurryakin (David McCallum reappeared as Ducky in NCIS) tried but Mr Waverley wasn't "Mother" and they weren't Steed and Peel.

Oh well.

I was at University during the "Rainbow" years. You couldn't get near a tv lounge.

Camp kitsch at its very best.

Yes, Louise indeed I did.

I never had the pleasure of seeing Rainbow but I thought the alternative version was very plucky!

the great thing about the alternative version is that it includes the original actors of the series which makes it even funnier!
