Well we lost....but nevermind there's Leyton Orient on Monday....a game which I have great hopes for.

Andrew...one whing I've never mentioned is my 'in-law family' connection with Scottish Football.

My wife's great (possibly great-great) Grandfather was a Scottish International who strutted his stuff for Queen's Park and Blackburn I believe. His name was Willie Arnott I think. Around the late 1800's.

Ever heard the name??

Queens Park were founded in July 1867, and have won the Scottish Cup most often after Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic. there was a Walter Arnott who played for them; he won 14 caps. This was a remarkable achievemnt for an amateur player. could the name have been Walter, rather than Willie? I know he did also play for Blackburn Robers.

You can look him up in the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. I think his boigraphy there was written by Bob Crampsey.

ChrisK,
I'd like one of those, how do I get to put something on my signature that isn't writing?

Seems like we all had lousy scores this weekend :(

Lesley.
Live long and Prosper.

Ummm...I did say in-law....

My only visit to Scotland (to my eternal shame) was to Edinburgh for a meeting. I flew in from Bristol and flew out again in about 6 hours....and that included a good lunch.

Thought Edinburgh was wonderful and vowed to return but never have....yet.

The firm I was meeting was made up of a football mad Celtic fan and a Scotland mad rugby fan. I saw many of the sights while I was there, but they made sure I saw Murrayfield and the two Edinburgh grounds....a great day out. :D

I don't think tht tehre are all that many Celtic fans in Edinburgh.

Next time, come to Glasgow. We have real football stadiums here, as well as an Opera House, the home of Scottish Ballet, ... ... ...

You are still welcome to change your flag!
