Sarah M wrote:Ok heres todays thought.

Why do spiders insist on sitting/standing (whatever it is they do) upside down on the ceiling?

It gives them a good view of their surroundings and with their web spinning abilities gives them the opportunity to swoop. :o

Talking of spiders the night before last I dreamt that I had 6 of giant spiders on my ceiling. After this session of pondering, tonight I'll probably dream that I'll swallow them all.

Chris

The solution to this problem is easy: eliminate all flies from your diet and you won't need to swallow any spiders!

Chris, i have a sneaking feeling that you are loving the word 'ponder.' I think that we can offically make it word of the month.

Andrew, funny you posted that rhyme, i got an email the other day heres what it said:

The death of a care in the community patient who died this week after attempting to swallow a horse has been described by mental health experts as a tragedy that should have been averted. The old lady, Mrs Teasdale from Lewisham in South East London, was adjudged 'not to be a danger to herself or others', even after she had swallowed a series of sizeable farm animals. Defending Lewisham Social Services, Councillor Bryan Clarkson said 'When this case first came to our attention, all we knew was that there was an old lady who swallowed a fly. I don't know
why she swallowed a fly. It was suggested that perhaps she'll die, though at that stage it seemed unlikely.'

I hope its a joke!

I feel bad wasting tax payers money researching rubbish at work.......but all spiders have fangs apparently. Still cant find a proper answer to why they loiter on ceilings.

A few years back, I used to live on the third floor of a building, and I still used to frequently get spiders - it always used to amuse me that they would manage to get up that far!! I think it must be spider season right now tho, they do seem to be rather plentiful at the moment...

i've been pondering again. It seems to beasties that are upsetting me at the momento.

Why do bees and wasps and blue bottles and all those sort of things hover about your window trying to get in? The minute they get in they want out. Surely they can look in and see theres nothing that exciting before they come in.

And also, does anyone know of anything that repels moths - like stops them coming in a ten mile radius of your house. I'm getting all set for summer already.
