I'm stating fact not opinion, not unless you view "they are determined despite all reason" as airing political views.
Healthcare, including that for KC is a political issue Gareth, and I think members have religious and political beliefs and are capable of touching on it without causing a major argument or be offensive or disprectful.

Louise,

After last years experiences all I wanted to do was make sure the rules were being observed.

No where did I say they had been breached.

A post last year lead to all sorts of politcics being discussed which resulted in users and the post being removed.

Right - o

I am generally careful not to express opinions of a religious nature in this site, and scrupulous about avoiding political comment, but I think the link Lou gave at the top of this string is as funny a piece of drivvel as I have ever read.

Maybe we ought to start a new string for completely obvious or obviously silly research.

Sounds good to me Andrew, but obviously if it's government research you'd better not make any comment, otherwise it could be political!

Ah, Louise, I am safe ..

"Government Research" is carried out by civil servants or their agents (nice people like Gareth and Pat).

"Party Research" is political, but they tend not to publish the results.

Someone in one of Glasgow's Universities (not the one where I used to work!) conducted research that discovered that people who carry dangerous knives are more likely to get into bother with the law than those who do not. Now there is a little insight that moved the sum of human understanding forward! :D

I know the difference thankyou Andrew, but I can't comment on civil servants otherwise it would be viewed as 'political'

Louise,

Not sure how to take the ! at then end.

What I did was remove the elemnets that resulted noxios gasses when coal was burnt. Came up with the MOT emmissions limits, developed ways of cleaning pollution without the need to spray chemicals all over the environment.

Policing companies that polluted the environment, spent loads of time in court doing that. I know people lost thier jobs as a result of some of what I dead, but I think that is a fair price considering peoples health and lives.

The latter reserach I was doing was to clean up chemical processes to reduce pollution and where possible stop it completly.
