Thank you kindly sirrah!

But of course, you solve one dilemma and start another as you now have a neat circular flag and we are still stuck with square ones.. but I guess thats moderator priveleges!

Well, the circular UK is there if you really want it. It's under "EU flags". They're all circles!

I'm using it mainly because the red stripe on the rank bar "moderator" gets a bit in the way of a rectangular flag!

There is a lovely red symbol for the Borg and the United Federation of Planets logo is pretty cool too Jay. Or yes, just a cake!

Hmmmm

Actually it would be nice if one could have a row of flag avatars like the eyes... then one could indicate preferences such as country of allegience, football teams, cake or chocolate, contact lens status etc etc... Yes OK John, I'll be quiet (ish) now!

But seriously, I'd like the room for a couple of avatars there...

I am certainly minded to allow uploading of personal avatars, but I really don't want to make the forum look too messy - as that would tend to put newbies off if we look too cliquey. (Is that a word?)

If I do enable personals, these are the rules I'm thinking of:

  • 80x80 pixel limit.
  • 6 KBytes size limit
  • No animation.
  • Avatar should either be a facial pic of yourself (which helps to identify each other at socials!), or a "flag"-type icon. Lou's suggestion of a UFP flag would work well there.
  • Nothing that's optical in nature(unless you are an optometrist).
  • I would globally disable images in signatures at the same time.
Certainly, to stay in the spirit, I'd not expect any photos unless they were of your face.

Oh, and Lynn... no. Just the one avatar, I'm afraid  . I don't have the time to develop my own mod for this, and there's not one out there that I can find.

John could I have my Borg piccie? But I can't work out how to get that transferred [not without a new chip being inserted into my frontal cortex...no sarcastic remarks Gareth or Jayuk!]

Lou,

If we do decide to go to personalisable avatars, then I don't see why your Borg piccie isn't acceptable (once it's scaled down). It is after all, a photo of you!
