PC problems
A few weeks ago my PC decided it was going to go loco. Started to lose programs or refuse to load up programs in Vista. Not too bad as was dual boot, and mirror copies in XP. All well and good until it refused to load XP as well nor allow XP or Vista to reinstall.
For the non technically minded it was knackered. For the technically minded the MBR went fubar. New hard drive and a vista install later Back up and running. Now have a total of 1 Tb storage space (big!!) as got the old drive running again.
Apologies for abscence.

Glad to know that things are getting sorted: all this technical language in the forum must be rubbing off on me because I understood your use of the technical term "knackered". For the incognoscenti, this is a metaphorical use of the noun meaning "horse butcher", that was extended to include horses that were old and worn out (ready for the knacker) and metaphorically to any one or anything that is exhausted or worn out.
At least we can be confident that Karl's computer is not going to end up in anyone's lunch disguised as pie filling, sausage or burger.
