Damn dry cleaners

Postby Louise Pembroke » Tue 17 Apr 2007 10:17 pm

I took my best salwar kameeze which I thought had to be dry cleaned to the cleaners.
When I got it back they had torn the scarfe, looked like it had caught up on something, I was mortified. This is my best and fav outfit and it was expensive [£50] and made for me. I took the scarfe back and said they should give me the money to have it cut off and restitched elsewhere, thankfully it meant just losing a few inches off the length. The manager did so but it wasn't very comfortable and I couldn't wait to get out.
When I looked closer at the suit it became obvious that the top hadn't even been cleaned!
I decided to take the risk of handwashing it in cold water, it's such a fine material and thankfully to my relief it survived.
