I won't touch those 'margaritas' (if I have a choice) anymore. :)

Way too much sugar... and crappy tequila (not even pure 100% agave). Cheap yes, good... err... no. :)

The downside of being a booze snob is that it ain't cheap.

I would go for a Glass of Glen Turret or better still Laphroaig best sipped slowly from a really nice glass and perfect when you have just removed a contact lens.

That is spot on. I remember when a cheap whisky seemed perfectly okay to me, then I spent some money and educated my pallet. Now I can't enjoy anything too cheap. Still it keeps me from the temptation to over imbibe.

but the enjoyment of what I can afford far outweighs any disadvantage.

ps Anna, I agree. When we get in on a Friday night, after dining with friends or even attending a concert of going to the theatre, my wife and I enjoy one of those moments of indulgent civilization. What was it Omar Khayam said .. a flask of (wine) a loaf of bread .. .. .. in the wilderness, ah wilderness is paradise enough!
