Vtech? Don't they make toys or something? Things like toy computers for kids etc.

Your pulling my leg aren't you.

I hope you weren't a juvenile delinquent

Michael,

You are quite right, I checked I was not imagining things by looking at one of my daughters old toys.

I suppose it is just as well Sweet was not driving the real thing

em … I have never driven very fast in anything, but I did once drive the James Bond Aston Martin.

A friend was MD of an Aston Martin dealership and brought the car out to another friend's farm where some of us got to sit behind the wheel and slip it into gear. I think I drove all of 100 yards and managed to get into 2nd gear.

My pal's dealership had the car as part of the promo for Thunderball. It was licensed for the road and to all intents and purposes was just an ordinary DB (4 5 or 6 .. I can't remember).

My fastest travel was in an aeroplane, but my best experience of speed was when sky diving. Just as a footnote, it is a good idea for men who take up skydiving to make sure that their harness is properly fitted and adjusted before they get out of the aeroplane. It is too late to do anything about it if your canopy deploys and you find that your harness is not properly fitted. That can do more than bring tears to your eyes.

I've had a lot of cars, some utter crates, some top-notch speed machines, but nowadays it's all about the cool factor, given the cash today i'd buy:

Gareth which is yours, the mk1 capri?

I had a 2.8 special once but it was too civilised so i passed it on at a tidy profit and bought myself yet another mk2 escort, after having a very hot 1600 sport in rally spec and also a mexico i went for a signal green rs2000 with a full stage 3 burton 2.1,twin 45 DCOE's,group N suspension etc,a right monster that was,and in lovely condition, but it wasn't the sort of car one could use daily so it had to go after about 8 months and in it's place came a BMW 325i motorsport, nice but again rather civilised, unless it rained....the most fun on 4 wheels is to be had when travelled forwards rather quickly and at 90 degrees to the kerb, sideways.

Then they invented the speed camera

Hi Samba,

Mine is the Capri RS3100, it is in the latest issue of Practical Classics too on the front cover. 8)

They could not get the road shots without me wearing the blacked out glasses, it was just too sunny that week in August :D
