So do I. :D

Every child finds their level in society, and society needs people at every level to function. The trouble is when you're constantly bombarded with the idea that if you don't go to university you are somehow a failure it's a bit hard to sit back and take in the bigger picture - or to question if with all the debt that university now entails taking on makes it actually worth going (says she who fully expects both her daughters to go   ).

Although I agree with all that Alison said I still cannot help being so proud of my son. When he was born he suffered severe hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) and had to be resuscitated. Then whilst in special care he got septicaemia (blood poisoning) and it was touch and go if he would survive. Initially he had to attend a clinic for brain-damaged children but by eighteen months they decided he was ok. It was a very scary time not knowing what the future held. Now he is tall, handsome (Ok maybe I'm a bit biased!) and very bright. He has achieved 4 A levels and is off to Oxford to read mathematics, all at the age of 17!
