I lived at one time in Sale, when I worked for the CIS in Miller Street. I used to commute in on the old slam door train.

One of my strongest memories of living in greater manchester was that there wasn't a drought in those days, either.

I reas somewhere that if you do not become a devotee of Science Fiction in your early teens, you will really never quite get what its all about.

My daughter never misses Big Brother, but never watches Star Trek, Doctor Who, Stargate etc. I think it is my fault. i was obviously a bad father. :(

Amarpal, you obviously have an exciting life and don't need TV, which is a good thing, I suppose

I love that SiFi offers possibilities - most of them ludicrous, but still, possibilities. That moment of what if..

As a teacher of future teachers I believe that one of the most important things my students can aim to achieve is to inspire a sense of wonder in their pupils. The world is amazing and sometimes to truely understand what is, it is important to ask how else could it be.

I used to long for a world of faries, hobbits and mystical lands, and part of me still does, but dragon flies, bluetits and rainbows only don't seem magical because we think we understand them and forget to wonder.

Brigid

P.S. the other important thing my students have to do is get their degrees ~ and all my tutor group have, and all bar one 2:1 and one 2:2 - huge relief, but then I had a good bunch this year. They will be fantastic teachers! :D

Well done Brigid. Bringing a year's tutor group to the successful conclusion of their eternal quest after degree passes (and good ones at that) is a significant achievement,

Yours aye

Andrew

Oh Arampal; Enjoy your liberty from the tendrils of the box.

Thank you Andrew. The Achievement was theirs, not mine, but the worry and the exhaustion were shared experiences.

Brigid

Teachers are allowed to bask in the reflected glory, and enjoy the success of their students!
