Anzac Day is a huge day for Australia. It is the commemoration day of the landing at Anzac Cove, or Gallipolli. Nothing can open before midday on Anzac day, and the diggers march.
However in Melbourne their is another huge traditional event that takes place and causes huge issues in my house, and the first punches have just been thrown. For about the last 13 years there has been an AFL footy match on Anzac day at the MCG it is always played between Collingwood and Essendon. I put those two team alphabetically. No matter how well one team is playing in comparrison to the other both teams play with true heart and soul on this day, spurred on I am sure by the last post and the parade of diggers around the oval. Each footy players who served. It always is a close game, and once ended in a draw. In Aussie rules draws are quite uncomman. The reason I listed their names alphabetically is I support the brilliant Bombers (Essendon, my father played for them) and they truly are the best team in the league. I am totally unbiased here, and my husband barracks for the collywobbles, oops sorry Collingwood. For the next week we will snipe and bite and only at about 4.30 next Tuesday will we make peace again.
So please guys think of us in our time of marital dissent, and may the bombers fly up.
Anzac Day.

Hmm let me see, 1) "rules" cause there aint any, and 2) friendly because it aint.
My dad played for Essendon years ago as a lad, and ran out onto the field in front of 120000 people they were playing Essendon, he was playing on a man named Ron Barassi, he slept from the time Barass' elbow connected with his fact until the end of the game.

Well I figure until Essendon wins the Anzac day match , so at least a year would be fair. He however will probably expect me to cook over the weekend or next week. He is on holidays and I am not, he enjoys cooking so he tends to when he has days off. He works for the govt so it is easier for him to get days off, well it is meant to be. If Avian flu comes to Australia he will be working 2 weeks on some days off for months. By 2 weeks on up to 16 hours a day, but cannot work more than 14 days straight.
