hi guys and gals!! it's been a while since i last posted, i have been quite ill recently.apart from not being able to see, i have had various illnesses, one which could have been fatal, but here i am so not to worry. i don't know if you remember, but last time i posted i was saying i couldn't cope with the rgps.well i decided to go back to being a specky!!!i just cant do the lens thing, its really annoying as i hate wearing gigs, but i guess i have no choice.the good thing is i get free nhs perscriptions, so as my perscription changes frequently i am entited to free gigs, so theres one good thing i guess!i havent been back to my consultant yet as i have only just settled back in at home(been in hospital for a while and i just got back from orlando last month)so perhaps i'll make an appointment. i really hate rgps. has anyone any suggestions as an alternative which i could ask about when i go? thanks, oh and happy new year!!!

Good to see you post back! and sorry to hear of your ill health!
Have you considered Scleral Lenses? Alot bigger and way way way more comfortable....or even Kerasoft lenses? (although the latter may only be suitable for mild/medium KC)

I see! It maybe worth pursuing this with your consultant?...I mean if there causing you the problems that you say they are than I am certain life can be a little bit better with the other options.....

Hey there welcome back! Am sorry to hear of your illnesses and hoping that you are ok now. Hehe did you have a mad welsh nurse looking after you during your stay in hospital! LOL!
Hoping that you find some lenses that work for you soon, it is well worth discussing it with your consultant / optometrist. I struggle with my RGP as well but have found that using a piggy back system which is with a soft lens underneath it's much more comfortable. So if it is because of pain and discomfort then i would ask about trying that.
Take care!

Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your illnesses, but glad you are well enough to be back with us.
I got to the end with RGP's, and they tried Sclerals, Kerasoft etc. They even had me waring a RoseK lens, but it was as uncomfortable as other RGP's.
The point is there are lots of lenses to try, so Nul Desparandum (Latin for the good advice on the cover of the Hitchhikers guide: Don't Panic!.
