Explaning KC

I am guessing I'm not the only one who gets "are you short or long sighted" "why don't you have laser surgery" kind of questions.

I was just wondering how everyone explains it to people? Working in a shop on the counter I get it a lot and have now resorted to "I don't know" or ignoring people as I am so fed up of explaining it to an expressionless face.

Seems to happen more rarely now I am wearing contacts but I still get it when my eyes are really sore and bloodshot and have to explain I'm not tired or on drugs, my contacts are irritating me.

Be interested to hear how others explain it to people :)

There re leaflets on the website that you can print off and give to people. But for what it's worth I just tell people that the little windows on the front of my eyes have gone out of shape so that I am not only extremely short sighted, but instead of being focused, the light is scattered as it goes through the front of my eye.

I just tell people;

"You see 1 image and I see 100s of blurry ghosty images. Glasses can't help and neither can laser surgery. Contact lenses give me some temporary vision from this ordeal."
