Good idea. Some of us have given cash to a Scottish Cornea Spcialist's research programme. I know that the Keratoconus Group is a Registered Charity in England and Wales, so there are lots of ways in which funds raised could be applied.

What sort of thing had you in mind?

Definately interested. Is this a cyber fund raiser eg. a photo show - animals etc. We've held a couple of local line dancing evenings locally which have raised £500+ for the local Riding for the Disabled group where I teach. Dress down days in work places are good too. I'm happy to help in any way! Tubs

hi andew so how do you go aboutgiving money to the Scottish Cornea Specialist's research programme.

I didn't know they were doing research about Keratoconus in Scotland.

We could raise money for this research.

Have you got any ideas for sponser events?

Let me know.

We also need to arrange a place to do the event.Got any ideas?

David.

hi lisa,
thanks for the reply.

A photo show sounds like a good idea.

We need to sort out a location too that's good for everyone else. What about doing the event in London?

We could do a sponsered walk or sponsered bike ride.

The Cornea specialist in Glasgow came to speak to the Scottish Group. He mentioned that he was doing some original research (has papers published on the www under Ramaesh). We wanted to give towards his work at the hospital, but he was emphatic that the NHS funded his direct service provision, but said that he'd welcome donations to his research project.

So we gave to that.

Probably better to have lots of events, maybe co-ordinated. A KC Day? This would allow Scottish people to be silly to raise money at the same time as folks in Cambridge. :D the line dancing idea struck a cord. I can't do it, but we have a lot of people who are very keen. How about the nation's biggest simultaneous line dance, linking people in different parts of the UK. The www should make it possible to have the music synchronized.
