Ok, perhaps I should have waited more than 3 weeks and it would have been wiser to have done the 5k. However I did the 10k, 84 mins which is 7 mins slower than my PB and felt really wobbly last mile and quite ill when I'd finished. Soon recovered and the eye feels fine as it did throughout the walk, I think the wobbliness was caused by the tramodol so I'm trying neurofen today. If I knew how to do it I would include a pic that's on another website but am computer illiterate! Tubs

Well done Lisa, very impressive! I 'm leaving all forms of exercise well alone untill 2006! I'm nearly 2 weeks post graft now and seem to be doing fine. Vision is reasonable, discomfort minimal ( no pain to speak of ). I still seem to be wandering around with my grafted eye closed a lot of the time, has anyone else done this!? How is your vision now? Did you have a full thickness graft?
I want to get back to work as soon as possible after the holidays but have just got my hospital appt for 10th Jan and wonder if I should just wait until after then. Does anyone know if I am likely to get refracted then, I will be 5 weeks post op.

Hi Val. Don't worry I quite often close my eye and have even made a diy eye patch by covering one of the plastic ones the hospital gave me with duck tape! My eye still waters but I'm now off tramodol and onto nurofen. At present I've got a rotten cold so sneezing isn't much fun, keep my hand over my eye in case the cornea flies out

Back on treadmill today complete with Kleenex and smelling of Vick! I'm due for check 6 Jan, couldn't read chart when asked a few weeks ago, but the vision is definately improved compared to pre op - just shapes and coulours then, now I can tell what thinks are - almost able to read computer screen!
