Hi Heppy,
Well, it really depends on the sort of job you do - some people have gone back after a week or two, others have taken a month or more. What can be useful is to negotiate a phased return to work, starting with reduced hours/days. For what it's worth, I took 3 weeks off after each of my transplants.
All the best

Thanks Anne
I work in a supermarket which requires some heavy lifting which I guess can be stressful to the eye.
Was planning about 4-6 weeks off but might look into phased return after this!

I was off for 6 weeks. Heavy lifting not good with a new graft, ask your ophthalmologist

Yes, heavy lifting is definitely a no - though I was never told how long that ban lasts. So when you do return to work, you might need your employer to make 'reasonable adjustments' for you and not require you to do any lifting for however long the surgeon says.
All the best!

My first graft (PK) was done at Christmas (a busy time of year for me). My GP insisted on my having 6 weeks off. My second graft (DALK) was done at a calmer time of year and I was able to accommodate the recuperation within my annual leave allowance.

I have been pondering the time off work issue post graft. My consultant is pushing me towards a double graft.
My problem is that im left eye dominate. My right eye is below driving standard, and has been a lazy eye for 30 years.
My job revolves around professional driving and heavy lifting.
I was surmising that I could be off for a good part of a year.
