Acute Hydrops

Postby ShameemF » Sun 12 Aug 2012 12:38 am

Hi All

I have not worn a contact lens in my left eye for 14 Moonths as i was put on the waiting list since 8/8/11 and have just had confirmation that my graft is 12/11/12.
My cone is very low too and the bottom being very steep i cannot wear hard lens either as it is very tight at the top.
The last thing i tried as a piggy back lens and was allowed 2 hours wearng time. I could only manage an hour maximum before it became sore so the specialist ditch that idea and i got fed up with my eye misbehaving.

I suffered an acute hydrops in left eye on 23/11/2004 and low and behold the right eye did the same thing on 15/6/05.

Hi there Shameem

Welcome to the Forum !

I've split you post from the thread you entered it on as I think it might deserve a seperate title.

Good luck with your graft later in the year. I've not had any incidence of Acute Hydrops myself, but when my cornea thinned to the low 270-micron range, the very real possibility of this hastened my decision to opt for a graft. At least you know that your Keratoconus is of sufficient seriousness that, whatever the outcome of your graft, it wasn't a rash thing to consider.

Best wishes

Chris

Shameem

Every good wish for your graft. I am sorry to hear that you have had to contend with hydrous: as if there wasn't enough going on.

All the best, and welcome to the forum.

Andrew
