Just to add to that.....

There is currently controversy as to whether the Riboflavin drops used at present actually properly penetrate the epithelium. Some claim it does, others claim that only the first 100 microns of cornea are cross linked using current methods.

However, there are lot of people working on this and hopefully a reliable epi on method that all agree works will be soon available.

Hi

I am having Crosslinking done at Moorfields in London on Tuesday for my left eye (currently 520 in thickness)

I am having a partial epi removal. My Consultant tells me he will use a "parmesan" grater like tool to make small holes in my epithilium to assist in absorption. (can't wait!)

I am blogging about my experiences, if you wanted to follow pre and post chatter I've just started it here: http://harringtonbear.wordpress.com/

More than happy to share my experiences here if you are interested.

Thanks for that. I'll keep a watch on how you are going

Th parmesan grater sounds horrific!

Best of luck and hope it all goes well
