URGENT How we can make sure money goes to research into KC

Postby Anne Klepacz » Mon 28 May 2012 3:53 pm

Those of you who came to the AGM in March will know that our speaker was consultant Mr Colin Willoughy, from Belfast, whose research into the genetics of KC is being funded by Fight for Sight. Fight for Sight is the UK charity that funds research into all sorts of eye conditions. They have now launched a major consultation, asking ophthalmologists, optometrists and other health professionals, and most importantly, patients, what the future research priorities should be.
To make sure KC gets on the priority list, and that the research we need is allocated funds in future years, it is REALLY important that as many as possible of us reply to this survey. To take part, you need to go to the F4S website http://www.fightforsight.org.uk where you will find a link to the questionnaire http://www.sightlosspsp.org.uk This is our chance to influence what research is funded in future years. So please take a few minutes to answer the questions so that the research you think is the most important for us stands a chance of getting funding.
The deadline for replies is July 31st so please do this NOW before it's too late!
Many thanks
Anne

Hi Anne - thanks for flagging this up.

Come on everyone - it took me less than 5 minutes - this isn't just about us but it's potentially about the future of our kids.

I've just had a message from Fight for Sight that so far they have had 1560 responses to this survey. I hope that more than half a dozen of them are for KC research questions! A reminder that the deadline for having your voice heard is 31st July (next week). So if you haven't had your say yet, please take a couple of minutes to do so.
Thank you
Anne
