Stitches removed post-graft

Hi,
So today, rather unexpectedly, I had the stitches removed following a DALK last september.
Tonight my eye is burning and the vision is pretty blurred - despite being excellent in the days leading up to today.
I was just wondering if this was normal and if my eye sight would now improve as it settles down?

It isn't uncommon for vision to change after the removal of some, many or all sutures. The release of tension can cause the cornea to change shape slightly.
If you are worried about the pain why not pop along to ophthalmogy A&E or, of you are in Scotland, your optometrist?

Hi Andrew.
Thanks for your reply.
There is no pain as such today. I am still concerned about whether my vision will improve back Yo what it was before the stitches were removed...

As Andrew says, removal of stitches can change the vision as the graft settles. And that can be backwards - as it was for one of my grafts. But although that was a disappointment, I get good corrected vision with lenses, so I'm not complaining! Presumably you've got a follow up visit at the hospital soon?
All the best
Anne

Hi Anne,
Can it also improve as it settles?
