Annoying contact lenses.

Hey guys, it's a long time since I visited here. I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about when it comes to uncomfortable RGP lenses, especially the larger size post graft lenses that would give Jodrell Bank a run for its money.
I'm currently using a soft piggyback lens under a large RGP on my graft eye, and my lens fitter would rather me forgo the bandage lens and alternate days of wearing it with just the RGP alone. When I do this I get soreness and red marks around the edge of the lens, so he fitted me with the soft lens and will see me in the upcoming month with the hope of re-tweaking the fit again, although the fit is pretty much on the money now which is what is confusing us both.
Taking care of 2 RGPs and the piggyback is a little annoying, especially since I still get irritation most days hence they are in and out. I am also well known for my dry eyes, and the variety of drops handed to me either make no difference or make my corneas more sensitive to lens wear for the rest of the day.
Have any of you guys had a similar experience, and any solutions?
