Re: Countdown to transplant begins
I've only just rejoined here but I had my graft 14 months ago and it's going ok. Everyone has different experiences but you get to the point where you will try anything. Very best of luck - keep smiling & remember with your hope for the future someone else had a loss - do all the aftercare stuff they tell you - you owe it to yourself and the donor. My thoughts are with you and update us when you can.

Brilliant news Loz - was thinking of you. Take it easy, take the medication, do as your hubby tells you and Get Well Soon. It's still fresh in my memory so any questions then ask - I'm sure one of us will know!

Re: Countdown to transplant begins
thanks jezza, no questions as yet, eye wasnt even crusted over this morning when i got up, still gave it a wipe over though with cotton wool pads and cooled down boiled water, still a bit leaky now and then but apart from that fingers crossed everything going ok so far. it is deffo light sensitive though, house has hardly had a big light on since i came home lol and everyone else will find it hard using this laptop as i have turned the brightness right down on it too. All i can do is look after it very well and hope for the best, the doc left one layer of my own cornea to give me less chance of rejection so hopefully this will be better for me too. All in all it makes the thought of getting the other eye done next not such a frighting thing after all.
