RGP Lenses and Dry feeling eyes

Postby keeno » Fri 13 Jan 2012 9:17 am

Good morning

I am in the process of getting used to my first set of RGP's and the fitting and the correction feel pretty spot on.

last night was my 3rd night of getting accustomed to them and towards the end of the 3 hours my eyes did feel Dry and Tight. Is this normal?

I used the Bausch & Lomb Boston Advance Cleaner and Conditioner system, but also see they do a Simplus all in one too, Is that any better do you think? just wondering if its the conditioner drying out my eyes?

also see they re-wetting drops, has anyone tried these?

apart from this small thing i must say i am over the moon with them and have to say the help i got from the specialist at Essex county Hospital has been first rate and made a big difference too.

thanks
Ian

Ian

Dry eye is a condition common to many contact lens wearers (not just RGP). I understand that it is the most frequently quoted cause of people abandoning cl use.

I manage mine by using preservative free artificial tears. My own preference is Clinitas Soothe. Whatever you use, make sure that it is preservative free.

Andrew.
