Hi was just wondering do i have to inform the dvla i have this as i would hate not to be insured.at the moment i have glasses but i am going for a check up asap and i know my sight is a lot worse.thank you x

Yes, you ought to let the DVLA know about your condition. Give them the name of your optometrist and your ophthalmologist. They will let you know if they need to contact your eye care professionals and will send a note of the conditions in which you would have to stop driving.
It may take up to six weeks to hear back from the DVLA.
You ought also to notify your insurance company. They will take their lead from DVLA, but if you do not notify them and you later had an accident and it became known that you had keratoconus they might decide that this was a material fact that you had failed to disclose and refuse to cover your losses.
It is always easier just to notify everybody and then you are covered from all angles.
