Got Keratoconus, What field do you work in??

Hello,
Is there any paramedics on here that have KC? I'm interested in becoming a paramedic (which would first involve me going to college, then University) but I'm unsure whether my KC would cause too many issues for me. I wear contact lenses which correct the vision quite well, however, I quite regularly have issues with them and I feel that I wouldn't be able to rely on them. Would be great to hear from someone in that field of work and how much of an impact KC has on them.

I'm registered as blind due to my KC and studying for a Masters Degree, don't allow KC to limit your goals for life, you can succeed and have KC!

I have just successfully completed an army selection at Glencorse assessment centre Edinburgh. I want to join the Royal Logistics Corps as an officer specialising in driving . I was given a certificate congratulations me however, I was told I have been medically deferred until there is more information from GP and Optician.
I was diagnosed with KC in 2014 and had cornea crosslinking and laser treatment in 2015. My left eye which has KC hasn’t improved but remains stable.

I feel the army won’t enlist me as a result of KC in the left eye. I am worried, devastated and feels like a failure . I just don’t know what to do.

My niece who has been diagnosed with KC recently is studying foreign languages, I don't think it will be too much of a bother if she is to become an interpreter, but will treatment allow her to read a lot if she becomes a journalist, a translator or something like that?

Evening all I see the gap between posts is quite large which says to me that most people maybe join for a while air concerns with others and then just get on with life which is great.

Well I have PMD which was not diagnosed very quickly and I am sure it started whilst working in Afghanistan in 2012. I woke up one morning and everything was blurry lots or disiness and I didn’t like bright lights. It took the Army a long time to diagnose the condition and I spent months rubbing my eyes as I now know you shouldn’t. I left the Regular Army last year and I now work a few days a week for the Army reserve. It has been great reading some posts and nice sharing info with fellow peeps who have similar conditions.

I'm an Optical Consultant in an opticians. The aircon means at the moment i can manage 3 hours in rgps and drops.
